Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

The Journal of Law & Policy Review publishes scholarly articles in the fields of Law, Human Rights, Citizenship, Pancasila, Civic Education, Public Policy, Public Administration, and Political Governance, emphasizing critical perspectives on globalization from national, transnational, and global contexts.


General Guidelines

  1. Manuscripts must be original, free from plagiarism, and not previously published or under review in any other journal.

  2. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (DOC/DOCX) or Rich Text Format (RTF).

  3. Authors are required to use the official journal template:

    • Template (Bahasa Indonesia)

    • Template (English)

  4. The abstract must be written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
    The main manuscript may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

  5. Submissions must be made online through OJS:

  6. Publication schedule:

    • June Issue: submission May–June, revision July

    • December Issue: submission September–October, revision November

  7. Editorial decisions include:

    • Accepted without revision

    • Accepted with minor/major revisions

    • Rejected
      (Rejected manuscripts will not be returned unless requested by the author.)

  8. Manuscript length must not exceed 3,500 words or approximately 10–12 pages, including tables and figures.

  9. Foreign or regional language terms must be written in italic.

Detailed Writing Guidelines

a. Title

  • Concise, informative, maximum 13 words

  • Capitalize each main word (except conjunctions)

  • Avoid abbreviations, formulas, and references

  • Written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, matching the manuscript language


b. Authorship Line

  • Includes author names and institutional affiliations

  • Only authors with significant contributions may be listed

  • Academic titles are not included

  • Institution names written in full, including country

  • Corresponding author marked with an asterisk (*)

  • Font: Cambria 12, single spacing


c. Abstract

  • Written in Bahasa Indonesia and English

  • One paragraph, 150–200 words

  • Contains objectives, methods, results, and conclusions

  • Avoid uncommon abbreviations

  • Font: Cambria 10, single spacing


d. Keywords

  • 3–5 keywords or keyword phrases

  • Separated by semicolons (;)

  • Avoid conjunctions

  • Font: Cambria 10


e. Introduction

  • No subheadings

  • Contains background, problem formulation, and objectives

  • Length: 10–15% of total manuscript

  • Citations use author’s last name and year only


f. Research Methods

  • Describe materials, subjects, tools, design, sampling, variables, and analysis

  • Avoid excessive statistical formulas

  • Well-known methods may be mentioned without full explanation

  • Qualitative methods may be adapted accordingly


g. Results and Discussion

  • Results and discussion are combined

  • Tables and figures used only when necessary

  • Table titles placed above; figure captions below

  • Avoid repeating numerical data already shown in tables

  • Discussion focuses on interpretation and comparison with previous studies

  • Avoid direct copy-paste from statistical software


h. Conclusion

  • Answers research questions clearly

  • Written in paragraph form

  • Avoid statistical expressions


i. Acknowledgments (Optional)

  • Placed after the conclusion

  • Acknowledge funding bodies or individuals who contributed


References

General Provisions

  • Only cited references should be listed

  • Minimum composition:

    • 40% books

    • 60% journal articles

  • Prefer sources from the last 10 years

  • Arranged alphabetically

  • Use APA Style managed with Mendeley

  • Font: Cambria 10, single spacing

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  7. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  8. The maximum limit for plagiarism and similarity is 20%.
